Welcome to False Bay School

Welcome to False Bay School ’s web page. FBS is a small, rural, isolated school located on Lasqueti Island , about 16 kilometers by water from French Creek Marina on Vancouver Island . We enrol approximately 30 students from Kindergarten to grade 12. Kindergarten to grade eight students are in two classes, primary and intermediate rooms while secondary students from grades 9-12 participate in our Individual Secondary Program (ISP) in conjunction with North Island Distance Education School.

FBS is very much a community oriented school with many adult members of the island volunteering their expertise in the school for a variety of subjects or fine arts activities. The community also supports the school very generously through fundraising activities. This allows students to leave the island regularly for a variety of cultural, recreational, or educational field trips.

Hopefully our website will give you a flavor of the school and the education that students receive during their FBS years.
